My naturist journey: embracing authenticity
Welcome to a personal chapter of Sarnia Photography. Here, I share the path that led me to naturism, the freedom it brings, and how it shapes my photography. Discover a world of acceptance and natural beauty.

The inspiration behind my journey
I've always been fascinated by the human form and the concept of being naked. From a young age, I've enjoyed being a naturist and the feeling of being naked in nature. However, I was always conscious of my body, comparing it to idealised images often dictated by the porn industry. This led me to embark on my personal naturist journey, visiting naturist campsites and beaches. Invariably, I often find myself naked when taking photos, depending on the rules of the location.

Finding acceptance in the naturist community
At 62, I've spent years hiding my naturism, fearing it would be seen as dirty or perverted. But the truth is, when you experience a naturist campsite for the first time, you realise there is no judgment about how you look. People are interested in getting to know you. For me, understanding that being in nature isn't inherently sexualised is key. While it can be, most of the time it's about meeting new people, sharing conversations over coffee, or simply enjoying food together. It's purely about genuine human connection and being accepted for who you are.

Capturing authentic moments
The best images to tell my story are unposed, natural photos. Living in my camper van, these could be shots of me working, relaxing on the bed, or walking in nature. I often share these on social media, censored when necessary, as they embody my belief that I am perfect just the way I am. These candid moments truly reflect the essence of my naturist journey.
